Following the recent fuel subsidy removal announced by President Bola Ahmad Tinubu shortly after taking the oath of office, its impact has directly affected the transport fares from one town to another across the federation.
For instance, from Kano City, the capital of Kano State, the price considerably increased immediately after the president’s announcement.

WikkiTimes had reported that a senior official of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Kano Line Motor Park, Abdullahi Ammani, said the transport fares from the state have increased to reflect the current changes in fuel prices.
He said the impact of the subsidy is more prominent in the transport sector where passengers’ movement has reduced considerably.
