2023: Declare For Presidency Or We Drag You To Court—Coalition Tells Bala Mohammed

An amalgamation of Associations and groups led by Adamu Dimis has called on Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state to vie for the position of the Nigerian president come 2023, threatening to take legal action if the governor fails to yield to their demand.

Dimis who is also the chairman of the National Youths Council of Nigeria, Bauchi State Chapter, said that the coalition has made adequate consultations with stakeholders before coming up with their position.

He said that the Governor has no doubt distinguished himself in the art of governance in all his previous positions, adding that his popularity cut across all sections of the country.

The coalition while expressing optimism that their preferred candidate will win the presidential election if he contests, assured of its members resolve to continue to canvass support across nooks and crannies of Nigeria.

He said Kaura is the only Governor that accords a lot of decorum to president Muhammadu Buhari despite being in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

 Adamu Dimis while presenting the Governor with the letter of endorsement, said that the Emir of Bauchi has asked them to inform him to go ahead and contest for the presidency, adding that the group will not hesitate to sue the governor to court if he declines their call.

Dimis informed the governor that the coalition includes members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), the National Union of Bauchi State Students (NUBASS), the Amalgamated Union of Traders and Artisans, State Union of Tricycle Riders, among others.

On his part, Governor Bala Mohammed, thanked the coalition for finding him suitable for the exalted position, adding that it was not the first such call was been made on him to contest.

According to him, though he is contented with his current position as Governor, he will make wider consultations across the length and breadth of the country to determine his acceptance to contest or otherwise.

High quarters of these consultations according to the Governor will include, former ministers, his colleagues, top brass of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, the Ulamas, Clergies and the emirs before submitting to the demands of the various groups.
