Adamawa Gov Urges Prayers For Peace, National Cohesion

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Adamawa State Governor, has asked the Muslim faithful in the state to use the Holy month of Ramadan to intensify prayers for peaceful coexistence among the people of the state and Nigeria as a whole.

The governor maintained that Ramadan is a period for sober reflection, hence the need for people to imbibe the culture of peace and unity.

Governor Fintiri stated this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Humwashi Wunosokou congratulating Muslims on the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fast.

“May Almighty Allah bring it back to us and all humanity with goodness and blessings. May Allah protect Adamawa and its people.

“Everyone must join hands to repair the fabric of love and oneness that bind the people together. Nigerians must close ranks and refuse to accommodate the machinations of those who speak to profit from their pains or widen the lines of division.

“The Month of Ramadan is intended to teach Muslims how to live good and compassionate lives. It is a Month of sacrifice, abstinence and above all, love.

“The improving COVID situation has brought optimism as the Ramadan Holy Month is upon us as we commence the Ramadan fast. I enjoin Muslims to increase their love for humanity, acts of charity, Kindness and gratitude,” he said,
