Kwara State Govt Task Force Raids Filling Stations, Warns Against Hoarding

Amidst ongoing fuel scarcity and skyrocketing price, the Kwara State Government Task Force has raided some filling stations, in a bid to checkmate hoarding fuel which it said imposes needless hardship on the masses.

Leading the task force within Ilorin, the state capital, the Chief of Staff Government House, Mahe Abdulkadir said the raid was part of the government’s measures to address fuel scarcity in the state.

According to him, the government cannot fold its arms and watch as citizens suffer because of the action of some fuel stations management that connive with black marketers to hoard the commodity, thus forcing masses to suffering.

“This is a committee set up by His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to see to the problem of fuel shortage. As a responsible and responsive government, we cannot be folding our hands watching. We have to see that the majority of our people enjoy the dividends of democracy”.

“We observed that the major marketers are doing their best so far because we checked their pits”, said Abdulkadir.

He however, called on the people of the state to be patient and avoid panic-buying, expressing their determination to ensure that the people of the state are not shortchanged.

“We want to call on the people of the state to be patient and avoid panic buying, the federal government is not trying to increase the prices of fuel. We will make sure our people are not shortchanged,” he added.
