INEC Distributes Election Materials for Tomorrow’s Supplementary Polls in Adamawa, Kebbi

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started distributing election materials for supplementary polls taking place tomorrow in Adamawa and Kebbi states.

In Adamawa, INEC had declared the erstwhile March 18 election inconclusive. This, according to the commission, was because the number of Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) collected in the affected areas was higher than the margin lead between All Progressives Congress’ (APC) Aishatu Binani and the incumbent governor, Umar Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“All the materials sensitive and non-sensitive materials have been dispatched. They will get to their destinations in good time,” Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barrister Hudu Ari told journalists in Yola, the state capital today.

The commissioner also called for peaceful polls as Adamawa Police Command gears up to ensure a hitch-free election.

SIMILARLY, the electoral umpire says election materials were distributed in Kebbi State.

INEC National Head of Publicity and Voters Education, Festus Okoye, said: “We are not going to have another supplementary election in kebbi State again. We assured that by tomorrow the people of Kebbi State will know their governor.”
