A cultural and education Alumni feed orphans with Support from local NGO

A cultural and Education Alumni program program funded by US government, Kennedy-Lugar Youth and Exchange Study Association of Nigeria has visited Mallam Kawu Youth Rehabilitation and Orphanage Center Bauchi, MKYROC, as part of its second edition of the annual Alumni project of feeding orphans during Ramadan fasting period.

The Alumni with support from a non-governmental Organization, Community Initiative for the promotion of Health and Education Sector, CIPRHES has distributed food and drinks to 75 orphans in the center.

The Alumni project coordinator in Bauchi Mamani Moresu Bitrus says the essence of the initiative was to show love to the most vulnerable children in communities especially in the holy month of Ramadan.

“we sincerely appreciate the effort of Community Initiative for the Promotion of Health and Education Sectors, CIPRHES for the unwavering support within a very short notice”. “These kinds of programs are meant to cushion the suffering of the less privileged, particularly orphans; especially at this time when private pockets are growing lean among the poor”.

Responding, the Chairman of MKYROC, Abdullahi Muhammad Tahir thanked the alumni for its effort in providing food for the orphans.

He described the gesture as the first of its kind by a group to have iftar with the orphans of the center and highlighted how the Center was bent on giving the orphans the best training they deserve.

The annual Alumni project of feeding orphans during Ramadan fasting period was carried out in 8 States; namely, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, Katsina, Sokoto, Plateau, Benue and Kaduna.
