Dealers of used-phone operating at UTC Commercial Center in the Federal Capital Territory has commended Efphonetaxi designed to fight phone theft, kidnapping and other phone associated crimes in the country.
Efphonetaxi application software has helped many Nigerian dealers of used-phone to avoid buying stolen phones from phone thieves and kidnapers was produced by E.F Network technology firm.
Leaders of the market who spoke to Mr Odinaka, business relation expert on Wednesday said Efphonetaxi application software has helped avoid joining issues with the police which can lead them to be arrested by the police and faced possible arraignment in court for buying or selling phones used to crime.
Mr. Odinaka said that the Efphonetaxi can help used-phone dealers in Nigeria avoid transacting with unknown persons who they said might be phone thieves of kidnapers without their knowledge.
He explained that leaders of the UTC market confessed that they are now afraid to transact in used-phones with Efphonetaxi app installed and it turned out that the phone was stolen, lost or used to commit a crime because customers will return for refund when the phones are rendered useless or even detected by the Police.
“They also worry that they may be arrested in addition to refunding the money to the buyers, whereas the strangers that sold the phones may not be found,” he said.
To the business relationship expert, the marketers lament that in Nigeria today, the Police always go after a person found with a stolen phone used for a crime, and making that person to answer for any crime associated with that phone.
UTC market leaders resolved that to avoid these risks the phone sellers said, henceforth, only known owners who are Know Your Customer, KYC, compliant will sell used phones to them.

Mr. Ochojila, Director Corporate Communication, said those who had challenges registering on the website to be patient because hundreds of thousands of users visit the website daily and poor network connectivity prevents some to complete registration.
