A 16-year-old Almajiri boy in Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State has been found dead with one of his eyes removed.
The boy had gone to fetch firewood in the bush on Friday morning but did not returned, his teacher Malam Muhammad Mustafa told Jigawa Police Command.
Lawan Shiisu, the command’s spokesman said the deceased’s teacher reported the incident on Friday.
“The complainant reported that one of his students, aged 16, went to a nearby bush to fetch firewood around 8am on Friday, but did not return home,” the police spokesman said.
“The student was later found in a pool of his own blood with one of his eyes removed,’’ he added, saying the deceased was confirmed dead by a medical doctor at Dutse General Hospital.
The command stated that efforts are on to arrest the assailants.
