The Bauchi state House of Assembly (BAHA) wants the establishment of a Budget and Research Office in the assembly complex to facilitate efficient and effective budget implementation.
This was contained in a press statement made available to Wikki Times by the Spokesperson of the Speaker, Comrade Abdul Burra after today’s plenary session.
The house which was presided over by the Speaker, Abubakar Suleiman during the plenary session also asked the appropriation Committee of the assembly to issue an appreciation letter to the state Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Aminu Hassan Gamawa.
Those to be commended alongside the commissioner according to the statement are his budget technocrats for working round the clock to come up with a realistic budget estimate, which the Committee said is the first of its kind in the history of Bauchi State.
The assembly also called on the state government to mandate all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to seek approval for budgetary allocations from Budget Office of State Planning Commission before any expenditure or release can be made.
