BAHA Deputy Speaker commissions hospital, disburses free drugs to constituents

Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule, the Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly has commissioned a dispensary health facility he personally built at Basi community of Yamrat Ward and disbursed free drugs to other health facilities in his Zungur/Galambi Constituency.

Hon Kawule who distributed the drugs on Thursday said he built the hospital in order to ease the hardship communities in the area persistently faced in accessing healthcare services.

He said residents of the communities suffered from decades of neglect and lack of government presence, an omen that constantly force them to take patients to Bauchi in search of medical attention.

Kawule said the hospital is strategically sited at Basi village being the centre to many villages in the area for easy access.

He urged the benefiting communities to make good use of the hospital and look after it against vandalism and misuse.

Kawule said the free drugs disbursed to hospitals across the constituency were meant to bring relief to many households whose children fall sick especially in the rainy season.

The Deputy Speaker who recalls his tremendous achievements in the Constituency in one year to include; provision of various relief packages, developmental projects and water provision to the, also said he will continue to wax more energy to support his them.

The lawmaker commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad for many developmental projects in his Constituency, assuring residents that the Governor will soon construct a road from Liman Katagum up to Gudum.

Hon. Nuruddeen Abdulhamid, Bauchi State Commissioner for natural resources commended the Deputy Speaker for constructing the hospital in Bashi, which he said will ameliorate the hardship faced by communities in the area.

The Commissioner who donated a generator to the hospital urged the communities not to allow the facilities to decay.

The village head of Yamrat who spoke on behalf of the communities said the residents will “never forget the Deputy Speaker for coming to their rescue after many years without health facility in the area.”
