Bandits Abduct Five Female Katsina Varsity Students

Some waylaying gunmen locally known as bandits have abducted five female Students of Federal University, Dutsinma, in Katsina state a few weeks after another unspecified number of students from neighbouring Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State.

Reports indicate that the armed bandits allegedly invaded the students’ compound located along Moriamoh Ajiri School, in Dutsinma, Katsina state around 3 a.m.

While the identity of the abductees remains sketchy as at press time, WikkiTimes learnt that three of them are from Lafiagi Edu LGA, Kwara State.

Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, Katsina State Police Command’s spokesperson said one of the suspected kidnappers has been arrested by the police while efforts are on to apprehend the culprits and rescue the girls.

“Yes, it happened. There was normalcy in the university and we were successful in arresting one of the suspects and we were expanding our search and investigation into the matter in order to rescue the victims,” he said.

The recent incident happened less than two weeks after the group abducted an unspecified number of students at Federal University Gusau in Zamfara state.
