Bandits Abduct Mother of Popular Hausa Political Singer, Rarara

Suspected bandits in Katsina state have kidnapped the mother of popular Hausa political singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara.

According to reports Hajia Halima Adamu, who resides in Kahutu village, Danja Local Government Area of Katsina, was abducted on Friday, June 28th, around 1 a.m.

A source who spoke to Daily Trust said the abductors invaded the village quietly, and the victim did not resist their attempt. The source said: “The bandits came on foot and silently because they did not fire a single shot during the operation, which lasted just a few minutes. The woman did not resist when the bandits requested her to go along with them.”

The source further explained that although the bandits encountered other people at the house, they only took Rarara’s mother, leaving the others behind. There was no attempt to confront the bandits as they were armed with guns. “They probably kept their motorcycles far away and then trekked to the village. We are praying that the woman will return to us safely because she is very helpful to us in this village. Her son, Rarara, is very generous to us; he has brought many developments to this village for our well-being.”

In recent years, Northwestern Katsina state has been ravaged by banditry and terrorism. In 2020, over 300 school children were kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists in Kankara Local Government Area.
