Bauchi APC berates Gov. Bala Mohammed, says administration has failed on security

Uba Ahmed Nana, Chairman, Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has on Thursday berated the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, saying his government has failed to secure the lives and properties of its citizens.

Alhaji Uba Ahmed Nana stated this in a press statement issued to newsmen in Bauchi.

“It is with disgust, dismay and appalling that we publicly condemn the high rate of insecurity in Bauchi State.

“The unfortunate incident has advanced to an extent that no one is free to burst of being safe and secure at all times,” Uba Nana has said.

The Chairman said that citizens of Bauchi State were either attacked, Kidnapped or murdered in cold blood without being saved by security apparatus in the state.

“Residents of Bauchi metropolis were frequently attacked in their residences by a gang of robbers numbering 40-50 who often launched house to house operations indiscriminately,” he said.

“Our main concern is the failure of the Bauchi State government to take proactive measures in tackling insecurity despite the recurrent attacks on its citizens.”

The chairman said early this year, armed bandits kidnapped the elder brother of Governor Bala Abdulkadir within the city center of Bauchi metropolis, but the administration has failed to apprehend the culprits.

The chairman also cited the recent killing of the member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Dass Constituency, Hon. Musa Mante Baraza as a sign of failure.

“In view of the apparent failure of the Chief Security Officer of the state to tackle insecurity in the state, we called on the Federal Government to come to our rescue,” Uba Nana added.

Responding to the allegations raised against the governor, Yayanuwa Zainabari, the publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party in the state says it was uncalled for, to ascribed security failure against Governor Bala Mohammed.

“All the security architecture in Nigeria are controlled by the federal government, I think their message is targeting the President of Nigeria, since it’s the federal government that has failed to address the security challenges in Yobe, Maiduguri, Adamawa, Zamfara and Sokoto States.”

“We are appreciating the APC for telling the President not to allow the security situation deteriorate in Bauchi just like it has already deteriorated in these states that I have mentioned”, Zainabari said.

Zainabari said the PDP in Bauchi State is aligning with the APC in appealing to the President to save the situation before it gets out of hand.
