Bauchi State House of Assembly has approved over N42b as supplementary budget for the fiscal year 2020 of the state.
The assembly during a plenary presided over by Deputy Speaker, Hon Danlami Ahmed Kawule has unanimously ratified the bill after long debates and subsequent third reading of the proposal.
The Deputy Speaker said the house passed the supplementary budget bill into law to allow the government to continue with its developmental projects aimed at addressing the yearnings of the electorates in the state.
Hon Abdulkadir Umar Dewu, Chairman House Committee on Appropriation said the supplementary budget will mainly be funded with funds from statutory allocations and domestic loans and borrowings.
Hon Abdulkadir said, ” the sum of 30,000,000 will be sourced from internal loans and borrowings from financial institutions.”
The Chairman explained that his committee arrived at the sum 12,824,390,705 after it subjected the initial supplementary budget proposal to rigorous analysis.
Upon approval by the Assembly, the Deputy Speaker directed the Clerk of the house, Yusuf Gital to forward the clean copy of the approved budget to the executive for assent.
