Reactions Trail Tinubu’s Appointment of Kannywood Actor Ali Nuhu as MD Nigerian Film Corporation

Reactions have trailed the appointment of the Kannywood Actor, Ali Nuhu as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation.

The appointment of Ali Nuhu was announced in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesman, on Friday alongside nine others to head arts and entertainment agencies.

The former presidential aide on digital communications, Bashir Ahmad, on his X handle, congratulated the Kannywood actor.

Another X user, Mukhtar, said Ali Nuhu’s appointment is well deserved and a testament that consistency and hard work pay.

The popular actor was born on 15 March 1974. Before his appointment, he was a prominent Nigerian actor and director acting in both Hausa and English movies, and he is also known as King of Kannywood.

Ali Nuhu has appeared in more than 500 Nollywood and Kannywood films and earned numerous accolades, widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors of all time in the history of Hausa Cinema, as well as Nigerian Cinema.

Ali grew up in Kano, but his father, Nuhu Poloma, hailed from Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State and his mother, Fatima Karderam Digema from Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

He attended Dawakin Tofa Science College Kano and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from the University of Jos.

He later did courses on Filmmaking from [Asian Academy of Film and Television Noida, Delhi], Transmedia Story Telling in the University of Southern California Dept of Cinematic Arts and Acting for the Camera at the Los Angeles Center Studios, Relativity Education.
