Bauchi Assembly Speaker Commends Bala On New Hajj Camp, Says The Edifice will Aid Smooth preparation For pilgrims

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Abubakar Sulaiman has commended Governor Bala Mohammed of the state for building a befitting Hajj Camp in the State.

The Speaker while delivering a goodwill message during the commissioning ceremony of the Hajj Camp by His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, noted that the Camp is one of the legacy projects executed by the Governor in the state.

“This gigantic edifice will help in the smooth preparations for Hajj operations as well as provide maximum protection and comfort to our dear pilgrims before and after performing pilgrimage”, the Speaker said.

This was contained in a press statement issued to journalists in Bauchi on Tuesday by the Speaker’s spokesman, Comrade Abdul Burra.

The Speaker described the project as deeply thought, well timed, strategically situated and fantastically executed.

According speaker Sulaiman, the assembly is proud with the Governor for erecting the magnificent and beautiful edifice despite financial constraints faced by the State.

“With the transformation of Bauchi State into the Hub of the North-East Geo-Political Zone by the present administration, some of our neighboring states will also make best use of this modern facility”, the statement noted.

“Islam is built on five pillars which Hajj is one. We know the importance of Hajj to any capable believer. Now Kauran Bauchi has provided this befitting Hajj camp so that all citizens of the State will have conducive atmosphere in performing this obligation”, the speaker added.

He called on the Bauchi State Pilgrims welfare Board to jealousy guard and protect the facility considering its importance and the huge amount spent in its construction and furnishing.

Speaker Sulaiman suggested that some of the facilities such as the conference hall be allowed for commercial purposes by only reputable organizations such as Governments, International NGO’s/Donor Agencies.

By so doing, the Speaker said it will sustain the beauty of the edifice and further improve the Internally Generated Revenue ( IGR) of the state.

He re-assured the Governor and the people of Bauchi State that the State Assembly who are partners in the Progress and development of Bauchi State, regardless of political differences, will continue to support and cooperate with the Governor.

On his part, the Governor said that Camp which was constructed at the cost of N658, will provide conducive environment for pilgrims and officials during hajj exercise.

According to him, the Camp has an administrative block, clinic, screening hall, multipurpose hall, mosque and lock-up shops, hostels, among others.

Commissioning the project, the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Sa’ad Abubakar commended the Governor for the project and for naming it after him.

He added that the project which of international standard, is a good place for pilgrims to lodge while awaiting for the flights and on return from the Holy Land.
