Bauchi commissioners, their likely portfolios according to their CVs (2)

As Bauchi state governor Bala Mohammed celebrates 100 days in office, his commissioners have been screened and sworn in today.

WikkiTimes has exclusively obtained the CVs of all the nominated commissioners.

In this series, we shall highlight key information on each of the nominees based on the CVs submitted to House.

Most of the CVs in possession of WikkiTimes have no copies of certificates attached, some are without referees—making it difficult for the state House to contact the referees and validate claims made in the CVs.

Aliyu Usman Tilde, PhD

A PhD holder, Aliyu Usman Tilde was born on 20th April, 1961 in Tilden Fulani, Toro LGA of Bauchi State. Described as an agronomist, academic, educationist, farmer writer, poet, activist and a community leader of over 37 years experience, Tilde has played significant roles in establishing and creating access to formal education for out of school children in his village. His referees include former governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, Profeesor Ango Abdullahi and Buhari’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari. Is Dr. Tilde likely to be commissioner for Education? that would have been a reward for his passion.

The commissioner nominee from Misau local government area, was born in 1962. His two paged CV shows that he holds B. A Library Science from Bayero University Kano, and has been a district head of Gugulin from 2012-2016.  Manga’s CV suggest he’s a devoted Muslim and has passion in reading the Qur’an, horse riding and travelling. He included three referees with their phone contacts, but no copies of certificates to corroborate academic claims made in the CV.

Muhammad Ladan Salihu 

Born in 1961, Ladan Salihu is the owner of the only indigenous private radio station in the state, Albarka Radio. 

He served as the DG FRCN, under the then President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan from February 2014 to February 2016. He holds B. A (Hons‎) Mass Communication from Bayero university, Kano from 1980-1983.

His CV suggests his doctorate degree is an honorary one.

Ladan Salihu

Ladan has two prominent persons as his referees, but neither their phone numbers nor their email addresses were provided in the CV as has been the practice. His CV also does not have copies of his certificates.

Ladan is likely to be the commissioner for Information. During his screening, he talked intensively on media and digitization and community radio stations.

Ahmad Aliyu Jalam

Born on 3rd January, 1964, Jalam hails from Dambam local government area of Bauchi state. His highest educational qualification is Higher National Diploma on Agricultural extension management obtained in 1995 from ABU Zaria and had worked in various sectors of the civil service in the state. 

In a two paged CV submitted to the house, his CV indicated that he was elected a councilor from 1999 -2002. He also served as Yuguda’s campaign coordinator in 2005 and 2007, caretaker committee Chairman 2007 to 2008 and was elected, Chairman 2008-2011 to man Dambam LGA.

His two referees have contact details but there are no copies of certificates to authentic academic claims made in the CV.

Professor Adamu Ahmed

Born, on the 2nd of April, 1964 in Ningi, Professor Ahmed bagged his Bsc. Geography, Msc. Urban and regional planning and PhD, urban and regional planning, all from Ahmadu University, Zaria.

Ahmed speaks both English and French and is currently a professor of urban and regional planning from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.

Ahmed who presented more than 20 papers has his publications cited in local academic journals within Nigeria.

Professor Ahmed who gave three referees in his CV did not also attached copies of his certificates to confirm academic claims made in the CV. His referees bear no phone contacts or emails.

Umaru Sanda Adamu

Sanda attended University of Maiduguri between 1978-1981 for his degree course having completed his A level course, at Katagum Government Secondary School Azare in 1976.

His highest qualification is B.Sc. Business Studies; has chaired and served in many committees, notably, the Chairman committee on recovery of loans and overdrafts- Yankari Savings and loans limited, Bauchi in 2008.

He has 3 referees with no email addresses or phone numbers, making it difficult for the house or interested individuals to validate claims made in his CV.
