Bauchi governor promises total reformation of state’s higher institutions

Bauchi state Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has reaffirmed the determination of his administration to improve the condition of tertiary institutions by ensuring timely release of funds.

The governor was speaking at Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi which matriculated about five thousand students for its 2018/2019 academic session.

Governor Bala who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Muhammad Sabi’u Baba said the state government will ensure total reformation of the education sector in the state through massive recruitment of teachers.

According to him, the present administration would focus attention on vocational education as part of efforts to provide the required manpower in the state.

Governor Bala Mohammed said the resolve of his administration to declare state of emergency on the education sector became imperative due to the challenges bedevilling the sector.

The governor also lauded the Polytechnic for recording remarkable achievements especially in the area of complementing the efforts of government towards the provision of qualitative education to students.

On his part, the Rector of the Institution, Dr. Sulaiman Muhammad Lame informed the governor that the current management has successfully mobilized its scare human and financial resources in order to expand students’ enrolment.

The Rector says the Polytechnic was running short term professional courses in science technology and vocational programmes at certificate level to assist students become self reliant and useful members of the society.

Dr Suleiman Lame said the institution will cooperate with the present administration in order to achieve laudable programmes that will enhance youth and women development.
