Bauchi governor says LG elections will hold in six months time, urge journalists to avoid unnecessary praise singing

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has expressed his administration’s readiness to conduct local government election in the next six months.

The Governor who stated this while interacting with newsmen at the inner chamber of the government house yesterday said by so doing, the common man will be able to have a choice that will further boost development at the grass root level.

According to him, his administration unlike others will conduct the election with minimal cost, saying, “it is not going to be the way and manner it was done before, whereby it becomes a process of defrauding the people of Bauchi state. “We will do everything possible to make a difference, we will do everything to set a new epoch of doing things in the state, we will be transparent’’.

Governor Bala who challenged journalists in the state to always tell the truth and not to resort to praise singing in their reportage, said that praise singing and untruthfulness in reportage has always been one of the causes of bad governance.

“Where you see it, report it. You don’t have to put your hands in our eyes but you can have many ways. “I have asked my cabinet to be reachable so that you the media who is the mirror of the society will be able to tell us.’’

The Governor promised to continue to work with the federal government to ensure that all the benefits derivable from the good relationship is attained, adding that his government will make sure that the people of Bauch state are not excluded.

“We are opening to our patriots that are working in various places and even those corporate bodies or entities that are within and outside the country to come and help us take Bauchi to the next level”, he said.
