Bauchi MSSN Tasks Parents On Children’s Education

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, MSSN, Bauchi State Area Unit has emphasised the need for parents to do the needful to educate their wards.

Dr. Rabi’u Barau Bal, MSSN President Bauchi Area Unit, stated this at the closing ceremony of the 2021 Quiz and Essay Competition held at the Faculty of Agriculture Bauchi State University, BASUG, Jama’are campus.

He stressed that education is the best legacy parents would leave for their children to enable them to offer contributions to a better society in view of the challenges of the 21st century.

Dr. Bal, who is also a lecturer with the Department of Sociology BASUG, Said that it is high time for parents to invest heavily in the education of their children, saying that the importance of education can never be overemphasized.

Speaking at the event, Emir of Jama’are, Dr Ahmad Muhammadu Wabi III said that the people of Jama’are firmly believe that education is the core instrument that can catapult a society forward.

The Emir who was represented by the Dan Iyan Jama’are Alhaji Atiku Ahmad Balle commended the Judges of the competition for the good work they put in to ensure fairness and success of the competition.

He urged the participants to be good ambassadors of Islam in their respective societies.

The Emir further applauded the leadership of the MSSN Bauchi Area Unit for organising the historic event in Jama’are and prayed for its sustenance.

In his welcoming address, Dr. Adamu Muhammad Hamid, the Quiz and Essay Coordinator MSSN Bauchi Area Unit said that the Annual event is organised for Muslim students of various secondary schools across the state so as to motivate and encourage them to face contemporary global challenges considering the sterling death of reading, learning and public speaking cultures among students.

Dr. Hamid, a lecturer with the Department of Mass Communication Federal polytechnic Bauchi, Apoulauded the participants for exhibiting a high sense of maturity throughout the Competition.

He further charged Muslim students across the state to double their effort in seeking both the religious and western Education.

Highlights of the occasion were the presentation of gifts to best-performing Students, who will as well represent the state at the National level of the competition slated for Ilorin, Kwara state.
