Bauchi Private School Distributes Food, Clothes To Over 70 Orphans, Widows

Annoor International Islamic Academy, a Bauchi-based private school has distributed food items and clothes to 76 orphans and widows in the state.

Hajiya Sugra Ibrahim Gamawa, the Director of the school, disclosed this on Wednesday at the official distribution of this Ramadan’s charity items to orphans, widows, and poor persons held at the school premises in Gida Dubu Bauchi.

She said that the school through its charity Foundation deemed it necessary to make an effort capable of cushioning current economic hardship in the country as the beneficiaries observe Ramadan fasting.

She said that Annoor being an Islamic school saw it Paramount to engage in community outreach not only to meet its Corporate Social Responsibility but also a religious obligation.

The Director who was represented by the Principal of the school Mr. Nurudeen Owolabi urged parents to develop the zeal to offer donations to the school’s Foundation so as to join hands in putting smiles on the faces of the poor and vulnerable population within the operational area of the academy.

He warned beneficiaries to desist from cashing  out on the items given to them saying “let those who benefited from today’s event make the best use of it.”

Ustaz Abubakar Ladan, Chairman of the Foundation, commended the human spirit exhibited by the teachers,  students and parents of the school to put smiles on the faces of orphans and widows.

He said that it is disheartening to look at the number of children roaming streets in despair while well to do individuals bask in affluence amid families groaning for being starved with a few people willing to extend helping hands to them.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to WikkiTimes thanked the school for the gesture and prayed Allah to reward all those who contributed with paradise.

Items distributed include rice, spaghetti, millet, wrappers and clothes.
