Bauchi PRP Chairman Quits Party, Rejoins APC

Alhaji Shehu Barau Ningi, Bauchi State Chairman of the People’s Redemption Party of Nigeria, PRP as dumped the party and rejoins his All Progressives Congress.

Shehu Barau Ningi said his decision to dump PRP was the consequence of “irrationality, indiscipline, blind and criminal personal ambition” of some members of the party which naturally ought not to be so.

Barau Ningi stated this in resignation correspondence to National Chairman of the PRP dated 19th October, 2020 which was made available to WikkiTimes.

“With immediate effect – with effect from the date of this letter- I hereby notify you of my decision to resign as a member of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP, and concomitantly as Chairman of the Bauchi State Chapter,” the letter read.

Alhaji Barau Ningi maintained that he did not tabled his resignation during the build up to the just concluded local government elections in Bauchi so as not to allow room for ‘mischief makers and wanton character assasinators to link my resignation to ruling party, the PDP, in relation to the election.’

He cited Leadership crisis the party at the center is engulfed in as major reason which informs his decision to dump the party.

He prayed Almighty to allow the national leadership tussel in the party to settle “at least for its time-honoured ideology,” he said. Also syndicated in Mr. Barau’s letter is the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Bauchi where Barau indicated interest to rejoin his former party, the APC.
