Bauchi PRP Chieftain Defects To PDP

A former Bauchi central senatorial candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) Alhaji Bappa Aliyu Misau yesterday defected to the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

In a press statement issued to journalists, Bappa said his defection from PRP to PDP was due to pieces of advice by his supporters.

He said he was in APC in 2019, contested for senator under it but was rigged out at primary election.

He said as a man of the people, he heeded their advice to move to the PRP to actualize his senatorial ambition but was allegedly rigged out by the APC again in the general election.

According to him, he remained in the PRP for over one year now claiming that both APC and PDP wooed him to join them as PRP does not have national outlook.

He stated that after wide consultation with his supporters, he was convinced to join PDP predicting that APC will collapse in the north in 2023 when Buhari leaves power.

“My choice of the PDP is not to contest office in 2023 but my supporters asked me to decamp to the ruling PDP in order to enable us contribute our quota to the development of the state.

“As we have defected with all honesty and sincerity of purpose, let me quote our amiable and humble leader governor Bala Mohammed who said whoever wants to contribute to the positive development of Bauchi state is welcome to join the struggle without strings attached”. He said.

He added that the promise by the governor to treat any stakeholder equally in the Bauchi state project also motivated him to join the PDP.
