Bauchi second lady donates sewing machines to center

The second wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Meriem Bala Mohammed has donated sewing machines to a Bauchi based skills acquisition center, Mu’assasatul Mar’atul Saliha.

Presenting the machines, the wife of the governor said the gesture was to contribute towards ensuring the empowerment of youth and women in the state.

“I was impressed when I visited the center recently where I promised to give my support.”

Meriem Bala Mohammed who reiterated the role of women in societal development, stressed the need for wealthy individuals to assist them so as to actualize their full potentials.

Receiving the machines, the Founder of the Center, Hajiya Halima Ibrahim Abdullahi express gratitude to the governor’s wife for the gesture and pledged to ensure judicious utilization of the facilities.

Hajiya Halima Ibrahim recalled that the center established five years ago, is working with broken machines.

The Governor’s wife had paid a visit to the parents of Yusuf Adamu Ibrahim, an indigene of Bauchi State who emerged the winner in the country in mathematics competition at the just concluded National Mathematics and Science competitions organized by NNPC.

Meriem Bala Muhammad  who was delighted with the performance of Yusuf Adamu promised to support him with scholarship in addition to the cash of 100 thousand naira as well and other prizes.

The parents of the winner of the competition thanked the state governor for being present at the competition, describing the gesture of the governor’s wife as a morale booster.
