Bauchi state government has launched an aerial spray on quellabirds, to curtail their excesses on agricultural produce in the state.
The state governor Bala Mohammed says an aircraft isexpected to visit about thirty eight roasting sites across the state within oneweek.
The governor says the invasion of quela birds in farmlandsin some part of the northern Nigeria is a major challenge confronting farmers.
The state director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture andRural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Yusuf noted that, the quela birds controlprogramme is one of the many consolidated efforts of the ministry’s drive ofensuring food security.
