Bauchi State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, AlhajiMohammed Sadiq , said the state’s maiden national trade fair has recordedtransactions worth more than N100 million naira within just two weeks.
The commissioner who said there are over 200 exhibitors whoparticipated at the trade fair disclosed that the state government will put
resources to help provide more secured business environment in the interest ofeconomic development of the state.Sadiq said the government will continue to collaborate withprivate partners to provide physical infrastructures for existing investmentsto thrive in order to make every part of the state attractive to new
investors.Mohammed Sadiq ,” the Bauchi State 1st National Trade& Exhibition Fair plays important roles in marketing as well as businessnetworking as the participants have meet with people and companies at their ownlevel in the supply chain, as well as potential suppliers and buyers.”
The commissioner who commended the Executive Council ofBauchi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture (BACCIMA) “forundertaking this laudable initiative to gather experts, captains of industries,business community and players in the economic sectors”, said the trade fairwas a moment to share business ideas and promote business relationship.
He stated that the trade and exhibition fair will generatenew ideas, innovations and strategies that will help address the challengesfacing micro-small and medium enterprises so as to engender economic growth anddevelopment in the country.
The commissioner said,“the National Economic Recovery and Growth Plan and eventual diversification ofNigeria’s Economy, the Role of SMEs” is relevant to the country’s currenteconomic realities as, it will contribute significantly to the economy by servingas an impetus for economic diversification.
“Let me also use this opportunity to encourage
stakeholders here present today; to take advantage of the fair. “We in Bauchiare ready for business and the market is expansive for quicker and biggerreturns on investment,” he asserts.The State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed during aclosing ceremony of the trade fair said, the event had challenged the state governmenton the need to strengthen business communities in the state.
Represented by the commissioner for local government and chieftaincyaffairs, Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki, the governor said his administration willcontinue to support businesses in the state to help curb the menace ofunemployment.
