President Muhammadu Buhari has granted license for a new private radio and television in Bauchi State, WikkiTimes can authoritatively report.

The Private Radio, Eagle Broadcasting Corporation Limited is to establish a private radio, Eagle Radio and TV in Bauchi.

A statement issued to WikkiTimes by the corporations’ Lead Consultant Abdul Ahmed Burra says the license “is one of the licenses approved by the President for the establishment of radio and television stations across the country.

“The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has also approved license to us for the establishment of an international television station, Eagle TV in Bauchi.

“Our decision to venture into broadcasting is informed by the Company’s desire to bridge the information dissemination gap existing between parts of the country, serve as the watchdog of the society, provide an arbiter for the citizens to attain their yearnings and aspirations through the media and create job opportunities to people”, the statement read in part.

Burra said Eagle Radio Bauchi will use “modern radio technologies to disseminate genuine media contents such as news, programmes, entertainments among others, to the people of Bauchi State and environs.

“Eagle TV, on the other hand, is an English based international television that will focus on dissemination of news and current affairs, documentaries and discussions on all matters affecting the country and the world at large”, the statement added.
