A former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar (rtd) has won the Bauchi State All Progressives Congress APC ticket to represent his party during the forthcoming governorship election in 2023.
Mr Sadique joined the governorship race for 2023 under the flagship of the APC along with other contestants.
He secures 370 votes to defeat Sentor Halliru Dauda Jika, a senator representing Bauchi Central at the upper, Dr Musa Babayo and four other aspirants.
Mr Jika came second with 278 votes, Nura Manu Soro polled 269 votes, Dr Musa Babayo Talba scored 70 votes, Mahmud Maijama’a scored 8 votes while Dr Muhammed Ali Pate secured zero.
