Joe Biden has been elected the 46th President of the United States of America after three trials for the oval office, CNN can report.
Mr Biden was earlier reported to have said that he is confident of victory as he inches closer to beating Donald Trump after Tuesday’s US presidential election.
CNN reports that the Democratic challenger now has 273 more than the 270 Electoral College votes needed to clinch the White House under the state-by-state US voting system.
The BBC reports that Mr Biden leads vote counts in the battlegrounds of Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Arizona.
With 273 electoral college reported as at press time, Mr. Biden has already defeated the incumbent President.
