About 10 men who lived in Karu, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory, have allegedly lost their genitals to suspected ritualists in the area.
Some of the victims, Habib, Sanyoalu and Ibrahim, full names withheld, said their genitals shrunk to an unusual size immediately after they shook hands with strangers.
NAN reports that the victims ceased to feel their manhood, contrary to a medical examination at Nyanya General Hospital which revealed that the reproductive organs of the victims were intact.
Meanwhile, residents of the area apprehended one of the suspects and beat him white and blue before operatives of the Nigerian Police Force from Karu Division intervened.
The suspect was rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the division said it became apparent that the claims of the victims could not be established after they were subjected to a medical examination.
He said unless proven beyond a reasonable level of doubt by a certified medical report, the alleged disappearance of male genitals could not stand.
In Nigeria, reports of male genital disappearance are often associated with ritualists who are suspected to be using the organs to perfect various charms.
Recently, alarms of the vanishing of male reproductive organs soared in Keffi, Nasarawa state when a middle-aged man claimed that his genitals disappeared after exchanging a handshake with another. Subsequently, similar alarms manifested in other parts of the state such as Nasarawa Eggon, Obi and Lafia, the state capital.
All victims of the alleged cases were issued a clean bill of health by medical doctors who examined the status of their reproductive organs.
