As part of plans to entrenched infrastructural development to support teaching, research and learning, the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) has put to use 11 capital projects executed at Gombe State University (GSU).
Through Zonal, Special and Annual interventions, GSU attracted over N15bn projects from TETFUND between 2006 to 2023.
Sonny Echono, the Executive Secretary of TETFUND who commissioned the projects commended the management of the university for its impeccable commitment to remain true to all partnership agreements entered into with TETFUND.
He noted that the current hard economic times prevalent in the country affected the execution of the projects, urging the University management to ensure proper maintenance of the structures for generations to come.
Echono vowed to continue supporting Gombe State University’s creativity through research interventions of TETFUD.
Speaking, Professor Aliyu Elnafaty, Vice Chancellor of the University said the institutions benefited from different interventions of TETFUND ranging from lecture halls, laboratories, libraries and ICT.
He said over the years, TETFUND sponsored about 500 academic staff for postgraduate studies from Masters up to PhD levels at various universities within and outside the country.
