he Zamfara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has embarked on sensitisation of people at the grassroots on safety measures against COVID-19 pandemic across the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Liman, and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Monday.
Liman said that following the outbreak of COVID-19 which had become a global disaster, the party thought it was very necessary for all stakeholders to mobilise resources and unite in the fight against the disease.
He said that the state chapter of the party had embarked on sensitisation of members of the general public on precautions against the virus in line with the directives of the Federal Ministry of Health.
“We have directed our State, Zonal, Local Governments and Wards executives to carry out sensitisation to complement the Federal Government’s efforts to contain the disease.
“We have directed them to cooperate with the government at all levels and stakeholders, especially the health personnel to educate members of the public on proactive measures against the coronavirus pandemic.
“We call on our members across the state to comply with the advice from health professionals and other stakeholders on measures against the deadly virus,’’ Liman said
He appealed to the people of the state to observe the social distance measure and strict hygiene for the safety of all. (NAN)
