‘Don’t Confirm El-Rufai for Nigeria to Have Peace’ — Shehu Sani Tells Senate

The former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has advised the 10th Senate not to confirm Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna State as a minister.

WikkiTimes had earlier reported that the Senate did not confirm the nomination of El-Rufai as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after its seven-day screening exercise of the 49 ministerial nominees sent by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Senator Abubakar Danladi, a Taraba State nominee and his Delta State counterpart, Stella Okotete were also not confirmed. The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio said the Senate did not clear the trio because of the security reports that must be cleared.

Shehu Sani, via his Twitter account, identified El-rufa’i as a religious extremist, warning that he should not be cleared if Nigeria wants peace to reign.

“The Unconfirmed Ministerial nominee; The Imp who was intoxicated with power, and who arrogantly played God is now at the mercy of those wielding power. A religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda should have no place in the seat of power if that nation desires peace,” he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Yemi Adaramodu, the Senate spokesperson, said on Monday that the red chamber might invite the trio for again re-screening.
