The Board of Directors of Eagle Radio Bauchi has approved the appointment of ace broadcaster Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Bello as pioneer General Manager.
Recall that in 2021 former President and Commander In-Chief of the Armed Forces Muhammadu Buhari granted licenses for Eagle Broadcasting Corporation Limited for the establishment of radio and international television in Bauchi, in which the Company started with commencement of radio transmission on 96.5 FM.
In statement issued to newsmen in Bauchi by the chairman Board of Directors Eagle Radio Bauchi Abdul Ahmed Burra, noted that Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa Bello, a one time Managing Director of Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC), retired Permanent Secretary, Bauchi State Ministry of Information and Communication Consultant of United Nations Children and Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has more than 40 years of experience in broadcasting, public relations, public administration and communication.
He said that the appointed General Manager carved himself into a professional who mentored many first generation and new generation journalists in Bauchi State.
“With his unmatchable record, experience and antecedents in broadcasting and communication, the Board is confident that the new General Manager will bring his wealth of experience, high sense of professionalism and work ethics to lay a solid foundation for the growth and development as well as attainment of the goals of the establishment of the Station which are borne out of desire to bridge the information dissemination gap existing between parts of the country, create job opportunities and provide an arbiter for the citizens to attain their yearnings and aspirations”.He added.
The Board also approved the appointments of a retired Director News of Bauchi Radio Corporation and Bauchi Correspondent of Radio France International (RFI) Ibrahim Muhammad Malam Goje as Manager News and Current Affairs, Idris Usman Sambo, a retired Director and Ag Managing Director of Bauchi Radio Corporation as Manager Programmes, Suleiman Maijama’a, a writer, strategic communication specialist and part-time columnist with Daily Trust as Manager Administration and Commercials and Shamsuddin A. Musa, an innovative media specialist as Manager ICT and Engineering.
Abdul Burra, expressed hope that with this formation of the old breeds and new ones in the management team of the Station will bring to the fore qualitative and dynamic leadership, teamwork and innovative contents that will effectively satisfy the needs of audience in this era of rapid technological advancement.
With Eagle Radio, Bauchi state have five operating public and private Radio stations to include BRC, Glob FM, Albarka Radio and Ray power.
