Enugu constitutes 9-member committee on status, location of govt.-owned property

The Enugu State Government has constituted a nine-member ad hoc committee to ascertain the status and location of all the state-owned property.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Simon Ortuanya, stated this in a statement issued in Enugu on Wednesday.


Ortuanya stated that the committee, headed by Prof. Malachy Okwueze, the Deputy Chief of Staff to Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, “is to identify state government’s property wheresoever it is located.
“Determine the status of the property and the level of compliance with its monetisation,” he stated.
Other terms of reference, according to him, include ”to identify Enugu state landed property in and out of the state.
“Verify the claims of individuals or corporate bodies to the state government’s property.
“Identify the level of indebtedness of individuals and corporate bodies to the state with respect to government’s landed property allocations.
“Make further findings and  recommendations that are reasonable to the task,” the SSG further stated.
He also stated that the committee had two months to complete its assignment from its inauguration.
Members of the committee include Mr Monday Okeke, Special Adviser to the Governor,  SSG’s Office, as Secretary, and Mr Livinus Okoro, the Auditor-General of the state.


Others are Mr Charles Ngene, the Deputy Director, Town Planning, Mr Dennis Ezema, Mr Kingsley Chime, Chief Jeff Ogbodo, Mr Joshua Udeh and Mr Ebuka Odoh. (NAN)
