Gunmen Kill NSCDC Inspector in Bauchi

Unknown Gunmen have reportedly killed an Inspector with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) attached to a joint task anti-kidnapping operation team at Gamji community in Ningi local government area of Bauchi state.

The late NSCDC Inspector who was identified as Haruna Mohammed was ambushed and shot dead on Wednesday night while going a little distance from their checkpoint to ease himself.

Locals who spoke to WikkiTimes revealed that the gunmen launched an attack on Rawul community two kilometres apart where they abducted one person before wreaking havoc in Gamji village.

Ibrahim Zubairu, the caretaker Chairman Ningi local government area confirmed the development explaining that “Report at my disposal indicated that the kidnappers have attacked our security personnel deployed to Gamji village to protect the lives and properties of the people, during the attack they killed one NSCDC Inspector Haruna Mohammed, he was killed when he went a little distance to urinate the bandits opened fire on him and carted away with his G-3 gun rifle.”

When contacted for comment, Abubakar Gabdo, the Public Relations Officer of Bauchi State command of NSCDC, said “When it’s ready I will give you.”

Gamji village is one of the communities in Ningi’s local government ravaged by the activities of kidnappers led to the killing of scores and millions of naira paid as ransom.
