ICJ Orders Israel to Prevent Acts of Genocide in Gaza

The International Court of Justice on Friday delivered its ruling on the lawsuit filed by South Africa over the alleged genocide in the Gaza Strip by Israel.

WikkiTimes reports that Israel had launched a military campaign against Gaza, following the attack on October 7, 2023.

The October attack allegedly carried out by the Palestinian military group, Hamas reportedly killed over 1000 Israelis. The military campaign launched by Israel has so far killed barely thirty thousand Palestinians mostly children and women.

South Africa dragged Israel before the International Court of Justice in Haque, accusing the Jewish nation of violation of the United Nations’ Genocide Convention, signed in 1948.

ICJ on Friday delivered its ruling in favour of South Africa, asking Israel to stop the barely four-month-old war to prevent acts of genocide in the Gaza Strip.
