Insecurity: Katsina Gov Donates Armored Personnel Carriers to LGAs

Disturbed by continued bandits’ attacks in some parts of the state, Katsina State Governor Umaru Dikko Radda has donated ten Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) to enhance security in frontline eight local government areas of the state.

The affected local governments which include Batsari LGA were among the most troubled areas where armed gunmen locally known as bandits continued to carry out their heinous activities which include attacks on security formations, massive abduction, killing and even destruction of farm produce in local communities.

Speaking while handing over the vehicles to combine security personnel in the affected local government areas, Governor Radda said it is part of his commitments to equip the Katsina State Community Watch Corps and the joint operation led by the police in tackling banditry bedeviling the state.

The governor who acknowledged that complete eradication of insecurity can not be achieved, assured citizens of the state that his administration will continue to build on the successes it recorded in the fight against banditry and other form of insecurity that hampers the socio-economic wellbeing of his people.

Isah Miqdad, the Governor’s Digital Media Aide in a statement said his principal had during electioneering campaigns promised the people that he will come up with essential skills, tactics, and strategies to ensure their security amidst security challenges facing the state.

“He expressed his gratitude to the Katsina Community Watch Corps and other security agencies for their commendable accomplishments. Although he acknowledged that complete eradication of insecurity in the state cannot be claimed, he assured the people that significant progress has been made and the pursuit of peace in Katsina State will not waver”, said Miqdad.
