ASP Mahid Muaz Abubakar, the Spokesman of the Gombe State Police Command, has said that an investigation is still ongoing on the alleged murder case of a female student at Gombe State University (GSU) who allegedly murdered her one-day-old baby.
WikkiTimes reported that last Thursday, a 400-level student of the Department of Public Administration in the institution was arrested for allegedly killing her newborn baby.
The dead baby, who was found abandoned in the early hours of Saturday in the female hostel on campus, sustained injury in the right leg.
Subsequently, the Police had confirmed the arrest of the murder suspect, who was also the mother of the child and had taken her into custody.
WikkiTimes gathered that as of last week, the suspect was receiving medical treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe while the investigation had commenced.
Moreover, speaking to Muaz Abubakar, the Police Spokesman confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing on the case and the public would be duly informed. “The Police are yet to conclude the investigation. But the public will be informed” he said.
