Muhammad Abubakar Sa’ad, the Sultan of Sokoto has announced the sighting of the crescent moon of Ramadan for the year 2024.
Consequently, the Sultan declares tomorrow, Monday as the first day of Ramadan, directing all Muslims in Nigeria to commence the mandatory fasting tomorrow as well.
In a broadcast in his palace in Sokoto, Sultan Sa’ad said the Moon Sighting Committee received one verifiable tip informing it about the sighting of the moon.
