kano Dissolves Assembly Service Commission over Alleged Negligence

Moving a motion of public importance, the Majority Leader of the House, Lawan Hussaini Chediyar ‘Yan Gurasa, decried that the leadership of the Assembly Service commission have neglected their primary assignments, noting that most of them doesn’t even report to duty.

The Kano State House of Assembly has called for dissolution of the assembly’s Service Commission for what it described as ‘negligence of duty’.

In a unanimous vote by members of the parliament in a pleanary presided over by the Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Isma’il Falgore, on Monday, members requested the state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf to dissolve them and appoint competent ones as enshrine in Section 51 of the Commission Act.

Meanwhile, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has dissolved members of the Kano State House of Assembly Service Commission.

The Kano State House of Assembly Speaker, RT. Honourable Jibrin Ismail Falgore, said the letter they received from Gov. Yusuf on Tuesday, conveying the dissolution, also stated that the dissolution is with immediate effect.

A statement by Kamaludden Sani Shawai, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker said the governor also requested for the approval and appointment of nine (9) members to serve as members of the Kano State Assembly Service Commission.

According to the statement, Gambo Sallau from Kiru LGA is to serve as Chairman with Zubairu Mamuda(Madobi LGA), Alasan Kibiya(Kibiya LGA), Ali Bala Kumbotso, Halima Uba Jalli, Surajo Harisu Danbatta, Yahaya Adamu Rogo, Abubakar Usman Ibrahim Dala and Garba Ibrahim Tsanyawa as members.
