Kidnapped Bauchi Monarchs, Others Freed After Paying N21m Ransom

The kidnapped village head of Balma and Ward head of Bukutunbe alongside others in Ningi local government area of Bauchi State have been released by their abductors after the payment of N21 million as ransom.

WikkiTimes had earlier reported that the two traditional rulers were kidnapped last week when gunmen attacked their communities.

The family of Bukutunbe’s ward head reportedly paid N4 million as ransom. Also, one Ya’u Gandu Maliya of the same address was kidnapped on June 13. He was set free after paying N4 million.

Similarly, the village head of Balma regained his freedom last night after his people paid N5 million ransom to the terrorists.

A source close to the ward head confirmed that the traditional leader is hospitalized because the gunmen tortured them severely.

It was also reported that the two people abducted two weeks back in the same location, Alhaji Malami of Ware Ware village and Alhaji Buba Kwancikwaniya of Yelwa village regained their freedom after payment of N4 million each as ransom.
