Kidnapped Niger Septuagenarian Regains Freedom 2 Months After Abduction

Mohammadu Sheshi, a 75-year-old resident of Enagi in Edati Local Government Area of Niger State has regained freedom two months after he was abducted by bandits in Kaduna.

Sheshi was abducted in early October by a large number of armed bandits who blocked Birnin Gwari – Kaduna road and whisked away many passengers into the forest, somewhere in Dansadau axis of Zamfara State.

Mohammed Shehu, spokesman for Zamfara Police Command confirmed his release, adding that the victim would later be reunited with his family.

He claimed Sheshi was rescued by the police on Friday in an operation following the receipt of an intelligence report regarding his abduction.
