Newly sworn-in Bauchi Governor terminates all ‘late hour’ appointments and promotions

The newly sworn in Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad has dissolved all appointments, promotions, confirmations and transfers conducted during the transition period, WikkiTimes can authoritatively reports.

Governor Bala Muhammad who said this at his inaugural speech held at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi, explained that the dissolution involved the State Civil Service, Traditional Institutions, and allocation of land and other government property to cronies of his predecessor.

He said a high powered committee would be constituted to recover all the looted funds and property taken away by the officials of the outgoing administration as his Government has resolved to reinforce Treasury Single Account to block all leakages in governance.

The governor noted that committee would be constituted to investigate the huge number of ghost workers in the civil service, and disclosed that policy would be introduced to harmonize the system.

He revealed that to boost the state economy through improved revenue generation, his administration would collaborate with NNPC in order to enhance the oil exploration at the oil discovery site in Alkaleri Local Government.

Governor Bala Muhammad assured the determination of his government to give priority to the prompt payment of workers’ entitlements in addition to constituting high powered committee to work on the payment of the outstanding entitlements of retired civil servants.

He said already he has identified all the challenges militating against the progress and development of the state, and pledged to address them through various initiatives.

The Governor said to ensure effective implementation of government policies and programmes and in line with manifesto of the People’s Democratic Party, training and retraining of workers would be given priority.

On the high rate of unemployment and out of school children in the state, the new Governor said he would soon unveil empowerment programme to address the anomalies.

Governor Bala Muhammad therefore regretted that his administration is inheriting collapsed critical infrastructure and services and hoped that with the support of all, successes would be recorded
