Ningi Emir Reads Riot Act on Traditional Rulers Supporting Kidnappers

The Emir of Ningi, Yunusa Mohammed Danyaya has promised to remove any traditional ruler found to be assisting kidnappers and criminals in his domain. 

Ningi, a local government in Bauchi State, witnessed a series of reported kidnappings recently. Many residents in different communities of the area have become victims with lives lost to the prey and millions paid in ransom. 

The Emir said this while interacting with district and ward heads in his palace. 

“I will not hesitate to dethrone any traditional ruler found to have connections and mingling insecurity in my emirate,” the emir said. 

Danyaya also issued a two-week ultimatum to the traditional rulers to work with relevant security agencies to end rising spates of kidnappings in the area. 

The emir noted that the intelligence report at his disposal shows that some unpatriotic ward heads are assisting criminals and criminality.

He noted that ward heads are inviting their relatives to come to Ningi emirat for kidnapping business.

Dr Danyaya added the emirate will conduct a proper screening to profile all the ward heads with a view to fishing out the bad eggs among them.

Also commenting, the Caretaker Chairman Ningi local government Ibrahim Zubairu explained that following the measures taken and rearranging the security formation patterns yielded a positive result in the war against terrorism in the area.

Ibrahim Zubairu added that his council in collaboration with security operatives embarked on a sensitization campaign to affected communities and enlighten them on their roles in curving in insecurity menace.

The chairman who appreciated the support from the state Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, Said the council will complement to ensure no stone will be left unturned in maintaining peace and tranquility.

WikkiTimes recalls that the Bauchi State House of Assembly adopted a motion mandating the executive arm to end growing incidences of kidnappings in Ningi communities. Similarly, a few days ago, combined security personnel neutralised scores of suspected kidnappers in Burra, a major community in Ningi.
