The Office Of Accountant General of the Federation in collaboration with Bauchi State Government has organised a two-day capacity building training on preparation and presentation of international public sector accounting standards IPSAS for officers involved in financial management in ministries departments and agencies across the state.
The move was to ensure effective implementation of the recent decision of the federal executive council aimed at deepening transparency and accountability in public financial management in federal, state and local governments.

Speaking at the occasion, the Accountant General of the Federation AGF Ahmed Idris said the participants will be equipped with technical knowledge for the preparation and presentation of the IPSAS in all the MDAs towards effective Implementation of the system.
The AGF who was represented by Deputy Director Budget in the office Dr. Hussain Abdullah Rahman said a monitoring and evaluation sub-committee has been constituted to ensure proper migration to the system.

The Secretary to the State Government Muhammad Sabi’u Baba who said the system has economic advantage noted that the State Government would ensure strict compliance by all the MDAs before twenty twenty two.
He called on the participants to take full advantage of the training with a view to step down the knowledge acquired to others .
The participants include accountants and other financial officers from the state and twenty local governments areas.
