PDP governors pledge to pay N30,000 minimum wage

The Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Muhammad along with the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara have attended the meeting of the PDP Governor’s forum.

Others in attendance were the 16 PDP governos, immediate past Senate President Bukola Saraki, PDP National Chairman Prince Uche Secondus and the Party’s Board of Trustees Chairman Walid Jibrin.

Addressing newsmen after the closed door meeting, the forum’s chairman, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State said members have pledged to pay the thirty thousand naira new minimum wage to workers in their respective states.

He however requested the federal government to review the country’s Revenue sharing formula to enable state governors meet other public demands.

He said members of the forum have also dissociated themselves over alledged diversion of local government Funds by state governments, calling on the federal government to publish the names of the states involved in the act.

Governor Dickson described the Party’s outing In the 2019 general elections as impressive as the party won more states in the election.

The Chairman who decried what they described as the politicisation of the country’s security apparatus as well as Continued harassment of journalists and private media stations by the agencies of federal government called on President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in the matter.
