Plateau Killings: Women Protest Arrest of Community Members, Burn Down District Head’s House

Following police arrests of some community members of Bokkos, in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, for alleged involvement in recent killings in the area, women have burnt down the district head’s residence and administrative office.

The protesting women set fire on the residence of Michal Monday Adanchi, on Friday afternoon, after some community members were arrested by the police in the ongoing investigation over recent killings of residents in the area in the eve of Christmas.

The women according to reports first went to police station demanding the release of the arrested community members but were denied, thus venting their anger on the district head whom they described as ‘sellout’.
