Police Arrest 4 Traffickers Marketing Stolen Children in Kaduna 

Police personnel in Kaduna State have arrested four suspected child traffickers dealing in stolen children in Zaria local government area of the state.

The suspects arrested are Rahila Gajere, a retired social worker; Ngozi Peter, a nurse; Maryam Afaka and Blessing Eze.

ASP Mansir Hassan, spokesperson of Kaduna State Police Command who confirmed this to reporters, said one of the suspects, Maryam confessed to supplying Ngozi with stolen children and receiving payments ranging from N25,000 to N50,000 for each baby supplied. 

He said Maryam sources the babies that she supplied to her accomplices from young girls who conceived and delivered unwanted pregnancies. 

Maryam told the police that “Since we started, I’ve supplied about three to four infants to Mummy (Ngozi), but I don’t know where the babies are being taken (to).”

While carrying out her illegal operation, Maryam claimed to be using a veil to conceal her identity to be able to successfully execute her mission without being detected. 

On her part, Ngozi denied stealing babies but conceded that she bought the girls found her apartment for N350,000 and N450,000 accordingly.

However, Hassan said police investigation is ongoing, adding that the suspects will be charged to court at the end of the investigation to face the full wrath of the law.
