Police In Adamawa Arrest Four Suspected Armed Robbers

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested four people for alleged armed robbery in the state.

A signed statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa State, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje says, “On April 7th, 2024, at about 0600hrs, Nuhu Muhammed, a tricyclist, raised alarm along Jimeta-Mubi bridge after being attacked and robbed of his tricycle”.

The Suspects according to the statement are; Abdullahi Yusuf, 22yrs, Umar Yahaya, 20yrs, Hassan Ishaka, 24yrs and Shuaibu Abubakar 19yrs, all residents of Kwabura village, Hawul local government areas of Borno State.

SP Nguroje explained that investigations so far revealed that the suspects boarded the Tricycle and asked the tricyclist to take them to a certain location around
Viniklang, Girei Local Government Area of the State.

“Upon reaching the bridge, they (suspects) applied force on the Tricyclist, threatened him with dangerous weapons, pushed him out of the Tricycle and went away with it”, the statement added.

Following a swift response by the Jimeta Division patrol team, the suspects were arrested, and the Tricycle was also recovered.

The statement noted that the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, assured that the suspects would be charged to court for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery upon the conclusion of the investigation.
